Covid times saw me formalise my long time interest in pianos. I completed an aural tuning course with a very well known technician in Washington DC, and for hands-on experience I have worked on defining and serving a type of roving apprenticeship, working part time with the Hamilton Piano Company, and on ad hoc projects with Jenkin Piano Service in Auckland, and occasionally even Hoekstra Pianos in Christchurch.
In Nov 2023 I passed all of the exams run by the NZPTTG and became an Australasian Registered Piano Technician (ARPT). In Feb 2024 we relocated to Nelson and are now working from there. New house was ready Christmas 2024 and I'm busy getting the workshop up and running, as time permits.
